Turkish wrestler Nesrin Bas began her campaign at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series tournament in Tiran, Albania.

In the opening round, she defeated Hungarian Noemi Szabados, followed by a quarterfinal victory over Romanian Kateryna Zelenykh, securing her place in the semifinals.

In the semifinals, Bas faced Kyrgyz wrestler Meerim Zhumanazarova, a world champion and Olympic silver medalist. Despite a valiant effort, Bas was narrowly defeated, moving her to the bronze medal contest.

Bronze medal triumph

Bas dominated American Solin Nicole Piearcy in the bronze medal match, winning 10-0 by technical superiority to secure the medal for Türkiye.

In the women’s 59 kg category, Turkish wrestlers Bediha Gun and Dilan Tan competed in bronze medal matches but were defeated.
