Türkiye collected medals across six disciplines on the third day of the 20th Mediterranean Games, held in the southern Italian city of Taranto, raising its overall total to 20 medals: 10 gold, five silver, and five bronze.
In wrestling, Muhammet Karavus won all his bouts to take gold in the freestyle 57-kilogram category under the Nordic system, while Yunus Emre Basar defeated Croatia's Antonio Kamenjasevic 2-1 in the Greco-Roman 77-kilogram final.
Murat Firat and Dogan Kaya added bronze medals in the Greco-Roman 67-kilogram and 87-kilogram categories, respectively.

Huseyin Berat Demircioglu took bronze in the men's over-80-kilogram category after a semifinal defeat to Croatia's Ivan Sapina.
In shooting, Cigdem Ozyaman Ozenir and Muhammet Seyhun Kaya each won silver in the skeet event, scoring 30 and 31 points, respectively.
With 20 medals overall, Türkiye ranks second in the medal table, behind host nation Italy, which has won 35 medals in total.
Türkiye's under-20 national football team opened its Group A campaign with a 2-2 draw against Morocco at Franco Fanuzzi Stadium.
Morocco led 1-0 at halftime through an early goal from Yahya Iguiz and extended the lead to 2-0 in the 49th minute via Abderrahman Arkid, despite playing with 10 men after a 12th-minute dismissal.
