Türkiye's national football team carried out its final training session in Mesa, Arizona, before heading out to Los Angeles for its last 2026 FIFA World Cup Group D match against the United States.
Following back-to-back defeats in its opening two matches, Türkiye’s national team, commonly nicknamed the Crescent-Stars after the iconic crescent and star on the national flag, has lost any chance of advancing past the group stage.
The training session took place at Athletic Grounds, Türkiye's main camp base in Arizona. The first 15 minutes were open to the press, while the rest of the session was held behind closed doors.
Under head coach Vincenzo Montella, the team started with running exercises before moving on to ball-winning drills. In the closed part of the session, the team worked on tactics for the United States match.
Turkish Football Federation President Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu and TFF Secretary General Abdullah Ayaz also watched the training session.
Türkiye is scheduled to fly out from Phoenix to Los Angeles on the evening of June 25.
Türkiye will play its final match of the tournament against the United States in Los Angeles on June 26 at 5:00 a.m. Türkiye time.
The match will close out its 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
