The Turkish Football Federation, or TFF, announced Friday that it had decided to part ways with Türkiye national team head coach Vincenzo Montella following a meeting of its executive board.
The federation said in an official statement that it had decided “not to continue” with Montella.
The decision was made during a board meeting that also addressed changes within the federation’s management.
Despite calls for an extraordinary general assembly with elections, the TFF board decided to remain in office until the scheduled regular election congress.
The federation also appointed Ibrahim Ozbay and Metin Akyuz as full board members to replace Ural Akuzum and Mevlut Aktan, who had previously resigned from their positions.
The TFF also announced that Serdar Yildiz had been appointed secretary-general, replacing Abdullah Ayaz, who recently submitted his resignation to the federation’s executive board.
Ahmet Erzurumlu, who currently serves as TFF director of registration affairs, was appointed deputy secretary-general.
