Türkiye led the overall standings at the 2026 Karate 1 Series A in A Coruna, Spain, winning 9 medals, including 3 gold, over three days of competition, according to the Turkish Karate Federation (TKF).
The event took place from April 24 to 26 at the Palacio de Deportes de Riazor. It brought together over 1,290 athletes from 85 countries and was the second stop of the 2026 Karate 1 Series A season.
This year's opening event was held in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Hiranur Temizel claimed gold in women's kumite 50 kg, while Fatma Uygur topped the podium in women's kumite +68 kg.
The men's team kata squad, made up of Kutluhan Duran, Furkan Kaynar, Muhammet Efe Yurtseven, and Ozan Parlak, also won gold.
The remaining medals were distributed across several disciplines.
Kadir Furkan Genc and Umut Eren Gundog won silver in men's kumite +84 kg. Emre Vefa Goktas took silver in men's kata.
The women's team kata squad, which included Keyda Nur Colak, Ayse Yilmaz, Hayrulnisa Cigirdik, and Esra Celik, also finished second.
Mert Halici earned bronze in men's kumite 60 kg, and Keyda Nur Colak added another individual medal with bronze in women's kata.
The Karate 1 Series A is a global tournament circuit organized by the World Karate Federation (WKF) that provides athletes with opportunities to improve their WKF world rankings.
The 2026 season continues with stops in Guadalajara, Mexico, in July and Salzburg, Austria, in October.
