The Turkish women's national football team will learn their European playoff opponents for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup qualifiers today.
The draw is scheduled to take place at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, with the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) represented by Isik Ozaydin, the administrative officer for the women's national teams.
Based on their UEFA Nations League results, 32 teams will be divided into two distinct routes—Path 1 and Path 2. The upcoming draw will determine the exact matchups for this critical European playoff stage.
In Path 1, teams that finished second and third in League A groups will face sides coming from League C.
Türkiye enters the draw as an unseeded team in Path 2, meaning it will face a tougher, seeded opponent. In this bracket, League A's fourth-place finishers and League B's group winners are paired up against teams that finished second and third in League B.
The two-legged first round of the playoffs will take place between Oct. 7 and 13. Each team will play one match at home and one away, with the aggregate score determining who advances.
The 16 teams that advance from the first round will move on to the second round, where the winners from Path 1 and Path 2 will be drawn against each other.
The second-round matches are scheduled for Nov. 26 to Dec. 5. After that stage, seven of the eight advancing teams will qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup Finals, while one team will move on to the intercontinental playoff round.
