Türkiye's Women's National Golf Team won the gold medal at the 2026 European Ladies Team Shield Championship, held July 29 to Aug. 1 at Royal Malta Golf Club in Malta, an island nation in the central Mediterranean Sea.
The team, made up of Deniz Sapmaz, Sude Bay, Ada Narin and Zeynep Sualp, defeated host nation Malta in the final round to claim the title. Ten national teams competed in the women's event.
In the men's competition, held in the same period, Türkiye's National Golf Team earned the silver medal at the European Men's Team Shield Championship after losing to host nation Malta in the final.
The men's squad included Can Gurdenli, İbrahim Tarık Aslan, Duhan Sazak and Ruzgar Turgun. Fourteen national teams took part in the men's event.
According to the Turkish Golf Federation, national team coaches Cagatay Ural and İdris Topar, along with federation Tournaments and Technical Standards Committee member Cuneyt Sapmaz, accompanied the athletes throughout both championships.
Second Secretary Can Berk Atasoy and Second Secretary Bora Tunckanat of the Turkish Republic's Embassy in Valletta attended the award ceremony.
