Türkiye’s national basketball team, widely known as the “12 Giant Men,” defeated Greece 94-68 in the EuroBasket 2025 semi-final to book a place in the championship game against Germany. The victory marks Türkiye’s second appearance in a European Championship final, coming 24 years after their last.

Türkiye’s long-awaited return to the final stage

The European Championship, better known as EuroBasket, will crown its champion in Riga, Latvia. Türkiye, who first reached the final in 2001 when they hosted the tournament, has finally returned to this stage.

In that earlier campaign, the team fell short against Yugoslavia in the gold medal match. Now, they are aiming to secure their first-ever continental title.
