Which players from Türkiye’s leagues are going to 2026 World Cup

A total of 45 footballers from clubs in Türkiye will take part in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with players from Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Trabzonspor, Basaksehir and several other teams set to represent their national sides.

Players based in Türkiye’s top football division, the Super Lig, will have a broad presence at the 2026 World Cup, while the list also includes two footballers from Igdir FK, a club competing in TFF 1. Lig, the country’s second tier.

The list was compiled according to the last clubs the players represented, bringing together names from Türkiye’s biggest teams as well as clubs outside the traditional Istanbul powerhouses.

Galatasaray leads the way with wide international group

Galatasaray will be one of the most visible Türkiye-based clubs at the tournament, with 10 players listed across several national teams.

The club’s Türkiye contingent includes Yunus Akgun, Abdulkerim Bardakci, Ugurcan Cakir, Kaan Ayhan and Baris Alper Yilmaz. Galatasaray will also be represented by Leroy Sane for Germany, Ismail Jakobs for Senegal, Davinson Sanchez for Colombia, Wilfried Singo for the Ivory Coast and Noa Lang for the Netherlands.

Fenerbahce combines Türkiye internationals with global names

Fenerbahce will also send a major group to the World Cup, including several Türkiye national team players and high-profile foreign internationals.

Caglar Soyuncu, Mert Gunok, Mert Muldur, Ismail Yuksek, Oguz Aydin and Kerem Akturkoglu are listed for Türkiye, while Ederson is set to represent Brazil, Nelson Semedo Portugal, N’Golo Kante France and Edson Alvarez Mexico.

Besiktas, Trabzonspor and Basaksehir add to Türkiye-based presence

Besiktas will be represented by Orkun Kokcu for Türkiye, Hyeon-gyu Oh for South Korea, Emmanuel Agbadou for the Ivory Coast and Amir Murillo for Panama.

Trabzonspor will have Christ Oulai for the Ivory Coast and Wagner Pina for Cape Verde. Basaksehir’s group includes Eldor Shomurodov and Abbosbek Fayzullaev for Uzbekistan, Christopher Operi for the Ivory Coast, Nuno Da Costa for Cape Verde and Jerome Opoku for Ghana.

Players from other clubs broaden the list

Beyond the biggest clubs, several Super Lig teams will also have players at the tournament. Rizespor will be represented by Samet Akaydin for Türkiye, Yahia Fofana for the Ivory Coast and Frantzdy Pierrot for Haiti.

Kasimpasa’s list includes Irfan Can Kahveci for Türkiye, Ben Ouanes and Adem Arous for Tunisia. Samsunspor will send Cherif Ndiaye for Senegal, while Alanyaspor’s Elia Meschack will represent Congo, Gaziantep FK’s Nihad Mujakic for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Konyaspor’s Riechedly Bazoer for Curacao and Kayserispor’s Joshua Brenet for Curacao.

The presence of Ryan Mendes for Cape Verde and Leandro Bacuna for Curacao also brings TFF 1. Lig into the World Cup picture, with both players listed from Igdir FK.

Together, the 45 players underline the reach of Türkiye’s football leagues at a tournament that will bring together established internationals, rising talents and clubs from different levels of the domestic game.
