Juventus suffered a late setback ahead of their upcoming UEFA Champions League playoff against Galatasaray, going down 3-2 to Inter in a dramatic Serie A clash decided in the 90th minute.

The Turin side twice fought their way back into the match but were ultimately undone by a stoppage-time goal, a result that leaves them on 46 points after 25 rounds of Italy’s top flight.

The game saw Turkish international Kenan Yildiz start for Juventus, while Hakan Calhanoglu returned from injury for Inter.

A five-goal thriller decided at the death

In what unfolded as a high-tempo encounter, Inter took the lead in the 17th minute through an own goal by Andrea Cambiaso. Juventus responded nine minutes later, as Cambiaso atoned by scoring at the other end to level the match.

Inter regained the advantage in the 76th minute through Francesco Pio Esposito, only for Juventus to pull level again when Manuel Locatelli struck in the 83rd minute. Just as the visitors appeared to have secured a point, Piotr Zielinski found the net in the 90th minute to seal a 3-2 victory for Inter.

The result lifts Inter to 61 points, while Juventus remains 46 points adrift in the standings after 25 league matches.

Turkish internationals take part on both sides

Kenan Yildiz, one of Türkiye’s emerging talents, started the match for Juventus and remained on the pitch for 75 minutes before being substituted for Jeremie Boga.

On the Inter side, Hakan Calhanoglu returned after recovering from injury and entered the match in the 54th minute, replacing Nicolo Barella.

Focus shifts to Istanbul and Europe

With domestic points dropped at a critical moment, Juventus now turns its attention to the UEFA Champions League playoff round, where it will face Galatasaray in Istanbul on Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Inter, meanwhile, will head to Norway for an away fixture against Bodo-Glimt on Wednesday.
