X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced a major outage Thursday evening, May 22, with hundreds of users reporting problems accessing the platform.
As of late Thursday, users said their home feeds were not refreshing and that they were unable to share new posts. Comments claiming the platform had crashed began trending, though no official statement has been issued by the company.
The social media platform, owned by Elon Musk, has seen continued reports of technical disruptions. Users cited problems ranging from app loading failures to login page errors.
According to outage tracking website Downdetector, large numbers of users across regions are struggling to access key functions on the platform, including specific webpages, the mobile app, and authentication services.
This is not the first time X has suffered access issues. In the past, the platform experienced disruptions tied to cyberattacks. Musk previously blamed Ukraine for one such incident, though no conclusive evidence was made public.
As of now, the company has not issued any official comment regarding Thursday's outage or its potential cause.
