In a live interview with TGRT Haber's Ankara Representative Fatih Atik, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli addressed the new regulation concerning stray animals.

He highlighted the public safety concerns posed by stray animals, particularly stray dogs, stating, "There should be no stray animals or stray dogs on the streets."

'They haven't read law'

Responding to opposition criticism, Yumakli dismissed their objections, claiming, "They haven't read the law, or they're distorting it for political purposes. The Parliament has fulfilled a crucial duty, and the implementation of this widely accepted law is essential."

Non-compliance brings penalties

Yumakli further warned municipalities and mayors that non-compliance would result in penalties.

"Public officials must fulfill their duties. Ignoring this law is not an option, and I believe our citizens will hold them accountable," he emphasized.
