Mustafa Karasu, a senior member of the PKK terrorist group, confirmed that the group will comply with the recent directive from its imprisoned ringleader Abdullah Ocalan to disband and end its armed struggle.

Karasu commented on the new phase in the peace process that began after Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahceli’s statement. This sparked a renewed debate following Ocalan’s call for the PKK to lay down arms and dissolve itself.

Karasu stated, “The transformation outlined by the ringleader—disbanding the PKK and ending the armed struggle—will be carried out. There should be no doubt about this. The state and the government must also take necessary steps toward democratization without relying on any excuses.”

He emphasized that Ocalan’s directive is binding for the group, adding:

The PKK is a movement established under the leadership of Abdullah Ocalan. His political and ideological stance defines the course of action for the group.

We, as individuals, do not represent the entire PKK, but he does. We follow the Ocalan, and we will continue to do so.

Today, as always, we remain followers of the leadership. We will implement the transformation set by Ocalan, disband the PKK, and end the armed struggle. There should be no doubt about this.
