Türkiye’s Meteorology Directorate has issued a new weather forecast, warning of strong winds and storms across multiple regions, including the capital Ankara. Heavy rain is expected in parts of Thrace, particularly Edirne and Kirklareli, starting from midday.
The forecast signals potential disruptions, including transportation delays, roof damage, dust storms in inland areas, and risks of carbon monoxide poisoning from stoves and gas heaters. Authorities have urged residents to take precautions.
Ankara’s governorate issued a separate statement, warning that short-term storms will hit the city from midday onwards. Residents have been advised to prepare for strong winds and possible disruptions.
In Samsun, local authorities cited Meteorology’s 10th Regional Directorate, forecasting that southerly winds will intensify from tonight across the Central Black Sea region.
Officials stress caution and preparedness, urging residents to secure loose objects, avoid risky outdoor activities, and stay updated on weather alerts. The situation will continue to be monitored.
