Turkish giants Galatasaray have stepped up their efforts to land Victor Osimhen, offering €45 million ($52.7 million) upfront and presenting a new payment plan to finally convince Napoli to release the Nigerian striker.
After days of negotiation deadlock, Sportif AS Vice President Abdullah Kavukcu, who has been stationed in Milan, returned briefly to Türkiye after delivering a significantly improved offer.
Galatasaray now proposes a total transfer fee of €75 million ($87.8 million), with €45 million ($52.7 million) paid immediately and the remaining €30 million ($35.1 million) to be settled in two equal installments.
The Istanbul side had already reached a personal agreement with Osimhen, reportedly worth €23 million ($26.9 million) annually. However, Napoli had demanded bank guarantees for long-term payments, delaying progress.
Galatasaray responded by tripling their initial upfront payment offer (from €15 million to €45 million), significantly increasing their credibility.
Despite briefly flying to Istanbul to attend a funeral, Kavukcu remains in active contact with club president Dursun Ozbek, and sources close to the negotiations say the club is confident: “There’s no turning back from here.”
Galatasaray’s strongest bargaining chip appears to be Osimhen himself. According to Turkish media, the striker has told Napoli executives he is only willing to join Galatasaray, dismissing other offers.
With pressure mounting, Napoli is expected to give the green light to what would be one of the biggest transfers in Turkish football history.
