The Kara Atmaca Cruise Missile, developed by Roketsan for the Turkish Land Forces Command, has set a new record during its latest long-range test, successfully striking its target with pinpoint accuracy. The missile remained airborne for a record duration during the test, which was conducted without a warhead.
Roketsan announced the test via X by saying, "ATMACA UM hits right on target during the firing test activity and achieved its longest range and longest duration flight!"

The Kara Atmaca aka the Atmaca UM is an extension of the Atmaca Anti-Ship Missile, with development efforts focused on creating a land-to-land variant for the Turkish Army. The missile's successful test marks a significant milestone in enhancing Türkiye's precision strike capabilities at long range.
The development contract for Atmaca UM was signed on August 18, 2021, between the Secretariat of Defence Industries (SSB) and Roketsan. The missile, equipped with a 250-kilogram high-explosive warhead and an Imaging Infrared (IIR) seeker, is designed to execute aggressive maneuvers and destroy targets with centimeter-level precision.
Atmaca UM is expected to enter service by 2025.
