Turkish Minister says Lebanon attacks show importance of national tech

Recent pager explosions in Lebanon have highlighted the critical need for local and nationalized technology. Türkiye’s Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacir, emphasized the importance of national technological initiatives.

Kacir stated, “This incident has once again demonstrated how vital the national technology movement is.” He noted that the issue extends beyond the defense industry, emphasizing the need for similar mobilization in communication, finance, healthcare, agriculture, and food technologies.

“We must develop all critical technologies with our own local and national capabilities. This is not a choice but an absolute necessity for us,” Kacir added.
