Türkiye showcases int’l defense cooperation in Anatolian Phoenix-2024 exercise
Defense ministry shares footage from the International Anatolian Phoenix Exercise, demonstrating military cooperation and readiness
The International Anatolian Phoenix-2024 Exercise is currently underway at the 3rd Main Jet Base Command in Konya, Türkiye, in a bid to strengthen international military cooperation and enhance operational capabilities. The Ministry of National Defense shared footage from the exercise.
The Ministry emphasized the continuation of the International Anatolian Phoenix-2024 Exercise, highlighting the participation of elements from Azerbaijan, Qatar, Poland, Romania and Saudi Arabia.
The exercise aims to test and improve command and control processes within the Personnel Recovery (PR) Operation framework. It seeks to enhance interoperability among PR Task Force elements in combat environments and with other countries, and to identify areas for cooperation.
The primary objectives of this joint exercise are multifaceted. Firstly, it aims to refine and optimize the command and control procedures within the framework of Personnel Rescue (PK) Operations.
Secondly, it seeks to elevate the level of interoperability among the various elements constituting the PK Task Force, both internally and with allied nations, particularly in high-stakes combat environments.
Lastly, the exercise serves as a platform for identifying potential areas of collaboration and mutual support among the participating nations.
The shared footage included training exercises conducted with “Skorsky” type helicopters under the Air Force Command, parachute dropping from CN-235 cargo aircraft, and parachute jumping exercises, as well as waterborne personnel recovery exercises conducted with “Cougar” type helicopters under the Land Aviation Command.
