Sarsilmaz's SAR 109T submachine gun has been officially adopted into the operational inventory of the Doral Miami-Dade County Police Department in Florida, becoming the first Turkish submachine gun ever procured by a U.S. law enforcement agency.
The SAR 109T is a compact, highly modular 9x19mm submachine gun built on an AR-style platform. It fires approximately 900 rounds per minute using a straight blowback operating system and feeds from 10-, 20- or 30-round magazines.
Its 9.8-inch barrel, optics-compatible receiver and four-sided Picatinny rail system allow integration of mission-specific accessories.
The platform features an advanced recoil compensation system and optimized buffer for accuracy during rapid deployments, an adjustable telescopic stock with linear recoil transmission, and a dioptic foldable mechanical sight adjustable for 50-100 meter ranges.
The system is already in active service with the Turkish Armed Forces, Gendarmerie General Command and the General Directorate of Security.
The Doral Miami-Dade County Police Department adopted the SAR 109T for operational use, training and evaluation.
It has simultaneously begun testing and evaluation of Sarsilmaz's SAR9 SOCOM Compact, SAR9 Full Size and SAR9 Gen 3 Frontline series. The Frontline series, built on the SAR9 platform, is modified for law enforcement use and features tritium night sights, an optics-compatible slide design and an extended magazine for faster reloading.
"That our products are preferred by law enforcement agencies in the world's most key markets today is not just a commercial success but a clear reflection of our commitment to reliability, quality, and operational performance in the field," Sarsilmaz's Chairman Latif Aral Alis said.
"We will continue to further strengthen our presence in global markets, particularly in the United States, with our cutting-edge solutions centered on the needs of professional users," he added.
Doral is a key commercial and diplomatic hub in South Florida with high security requirements and a demand for rapid-response law-enforcement capabilities.
Sarsilmaz, which has approximately 150 years of manufacturing history, described the adoption as clearing "an important threshold" in the U.S. market.
