House Democrats have released new photos and video taken inside Jeffrey Epstein’s private Caribbean compound, offering an uncommon look into the remote site at the heart of long-standing trafficking allegations.

The images, captured in 2020 by law enforcement in the U.S. Virgin Islands a year after Epstein died in jail, show several interior spaces of the late financier’s residence, from bedrooms and a telephone line with redacted names to a room containing a dentist chair and masks fixed on the wall.

A closer look into a highly restricted property

The newly circulated visuals include scenes from what appears to be an office or library, where a chalkboard displays the words “fin,” “intellectual,” “deception,” and “power.” A room featuring a dentist chair stands out among the materials. According to reporting referenced in the release, Epstein’s last girlfriend was a dentist who had shared an office with one of his shell companies.

Images provided to lawmakers appear to be full walk-through recordings of the interior, documenting spaces that have rarely been accessible to the public.

Part of Congress’s push for transparency

Although the images do not introduce new factual revelations, Democrats framed their publication as an effort to maintain pressure on federal authorities. The House oversight committee is seeking further disclosure ahead of a 19 December deadline for the U.S. Department of Justice to release related files. A bipartisan group in Congress has also asked U.S. attorney general Pam Bondi for a status update.

Robert Garcia, the ranking Democrat on the committee, described the images as “a disturbing look into the world of Jeffrey Epstein and his island” and said the panel aims to ensure public transparency while helping to assemble “the full picture of Epstein’s horrific crimes.”

Background on islands and the investigation

Epstein owned two islands in the US Virgin Islands, including Little St. James, which some residents had informally nicknamed “pedophile island.” In 2022, the attorney general of the U.S. Virgin Islands reached a settlement worth more than $100 million with Epstein’s estate after alleging that numerous young women and children were trafficked, assaulted, and held on the secluded property.

The committee said that, in addition to the images and videos, it has received documents from JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank and plans to release those materials in the coming days.
