Trump shares 'Bomb Iran' video amid US airstrikes and fragile Middle East cease-fire
The B-2 Spirit approaches the boom of a McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey KC-10A Extender during a Capstone orientation flight. Capstone is a Joint Airborne/Air Transportability Training mission providing interservice training for the wartime application of airlift. Through Capstone, senior level officers are able to observe the significance of airlift and its role in all military operations. The B-2 Spirit is a multi-role bomber capable of delivering both conventional and nuclear munitions. It is a dramatic leap forward in technology and represents a major milestone in the U.S. bomber modernization program. The B-2 brings massive firepower to bear, in a short time, anywhere on the globe through previously impenetrable defenses. The B-2 provides the penetrating flexibility and effectiveness inherent in manned bombers. Its low-observable, or stealth, characteristics give it the unique ability to penetrate an enemys most sophisticated defenses and threaten its most valued, and heavily defended, targets. The B-2s low-observability provides it greater freedom of action at high altitudes, thus increasing its range and a better field of view for the aircrafts sensors. Its capability to penetrate air defenses and threaten effective retaliation provide a strong, effective deterrent and combat force well through the 21st century. U.S. President Donald Trump posted a video via his social media platform Truth Social on Wednesday featuring B-2 stealth bombers and the 1980 song "Bomb Iran" in the aftermath of U.S. airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities—an escalation that comes as regional powers attempt to maintain a fragile ceasefire.
The clip, shared via Trump’s Truth Social account, included footage of B-2 aircraft while the controversial track by Vince Vance and The Valiants played in the background. The song includes lyrics such as “Bomb Iran, let’s take a stand,” and “Tell the Ayatollah, ‘we’re gonna put you in a box.’”
Trump’s post came days after he claimed that U.S. forces had conducted precision strikes on Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. In a statement on June 21, he said the attacks had “completely and totally destroyed” the facilities, though independent confirmation remains limited.
Escalation in Middle East and fragile cease-fire
Israel launched airstrikes on several sites across Iran on June 13, including military and nuclear facilities, alleging Tehran was close to producing a nuclear bomb—a claim vehemently denied by Iran.
In response, Iran launched retaliatory missile and drone strikes. The U.S. joined the conflict by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday.
After 12 days of escalating aerial combat between the two regional arch-foes, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a cease-fire aimed at ending the conflict between Israel and Iran.
