Assoc. Prof. Huseyin Alptekin is a political scientist and a faculty member at the National Defense University of Türkiye. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014, with a dissertation titled “Explaining Ethnopolitical Mobilization: Ethnic Incorporation and Mobilization Patterns in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Turkey, and Beyond.” His research interests include international security, comparative political institutions, ethnic politics, and the politics of Türkiye and the Middle East. His articles have been published in academic outlets such as Ethnic and Racial Studies, Mediterranean Politics, Nationalism and Ethnic Politics, and The Wiley-Blackwell Encyclopedia of Political Thought. Alptekin is the author of a number of books, most recent of which is titled "Türkiye'nin Grand Stratejisi: Kavramsal Bir Giriş" (Türkiye’s Grand Strategy: A Conceptual Introduction).
