Artificial intelligence is meant to support human decision-making, not replace it, said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in an interview with Taiwan’s TVBS News aired on Monday.

Huang emphasized that while AI can be a helpful tool, it cannot replace human intentions or personal choices. "Decisions like choosing to vacation in Kyoto come from me, not from AI—it's my goal, not the machine’s."

He stated that core functions such as setting goals, assessing progress, and adjusting to change remain inherently human. “Aspiration is essential to us all, and AI is here to help us achieve those dreams and objectives,” he noted.

Huang urged both businesses and individuals to embrace AI as a collaborator, not a threat. “Everyone—companies, professionals, and individuals—should learn to work with AI as partners, assistants, tutors, and teammates to boost productivity and success,” he said.

Concerns about job replacements

He dismissed concerns about job losses due to AI as misplaced, saying the real risk is falling behind those who embrace the technology.

With the global economy aiming to grow from $100 trillion to as much as $200 trillion, Huang said this leap cannot come from population growth alone, noting that with labor shortages and aging populations, AI is essential for growth without a bigger workforce.

Last week, Huang announced a partnership with Taiwanese tech companies and the government to build Taiwan’s first major AI supercomputer to accelerate the country’s AI infrastructure and ecosystem.
