Türkiye’s airline AJet has launched scheduled flights from Ankara to Baghdad, further expanding its international network and strengthening its presence in the Middle East.
According to a company statement, the airline, which already operates flights from Istanbul to the Iraqi capital, has now connected Ankara to Baghdad as part of its ongoing international expansion efforts.
Following an inauguration ceremony held in Ankara on Sunday, the first flight to Baghdad departed and was greeted with a water salute upon arrival at Baghdad International Airport after a two-hour and 35-minute journey.
AJet will operate the Ankara–Baghdad route three times a week; on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
The airline continues to broaden its international network from Ankara, flying to 35 destinations across 26 countries in Europe, the Caucasus, the Middle East, and North Africa.
AJet plans to add nine more countries and 10 new cities to its flight network by the end of 2026.
