Marmaris on Türkiye’s southwestern coast welcomed nearly 6,000 cruise passengers over two separate arrivals in April, as Aida Stella docked earlier in the month and MSC Divina followed with a larger group toward the end of April.

Larger passenger flow

On April 28, the Panama-flagged MSC Divina arrived from Kusadasi with 3,280 passengers and more than 1,500 crew members on board. At 333 meters long, the vessel is significantly larger and draws a higher number of visitors into the town after docking at the Marmaris Cruise Port.

Following disembarkation, tourists spread out across key attractions, including Uzunyali Beach, a popular seaside promenade, as well as the marina and central shopping areas. Many visitors spent time in coastal restaurants and cafes, while others joined group tours to explore the town’s historic core.

Cruise arrival sets tone for tourist activity

Earlier in the month, the Italy-flagged Aida Stella had called at the Marmaris Cruise Port on April 19 after departing from Port Said in Egypt, carrying around 2,500 passengers, most of them German tourists, along with about 1,500 crew members. The vessel, measuring 254 meters in length, anchored at the port’s main pier in the evening.

The ship’s arrival was shaped by weather, which led it to cancel a planned stop at the Greek island of Kos and instead seek shelter in Marmaris.

After completing customs procedures, passengers made their way into the town, where many visited Marmaris Bazaar, Kaleici, known as the historic old quarter, and the Marmaris Marina.
