Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, held a meeting with the founder and chairman of Türkiye’s NG Hotels Group to discuss potential hotel investment opportunities in Egypt, highlighting the country’s growing appeal as a destination for international tourism.

Fathy stated that Egypt witnessed a significant increase in the number of Turkish tourists from January to July this year, reaching 56.5% compared to the same period last year.

He stressed that the ministry is working to enhance and attract further inbound tourism from the Turkish market to Egypt as a destination.

This development comes as NG Hotels prepares to open its first hotel in Egypt as part of its international expansion strategy. The Gural family’s tourism brand, NG Hotels Group, is set to establish its initial property in the country to strengthen its presence abroad.

In his meeting with Nafi Gural, founder of Türkiye’s NG Hotels Group, and Erkan Gural, the group’s chairman, and their accompanying delegation, the minister emphasized Egypt’s commitment to supporting and encouraging tourism and hotel investments, in light of the country’s exceptional tourism assets and promising investment opportunities.

He also reviewed with them the ministry’s strategy to expand hotel capacity by increasing the number of hotel rooms to keep pace with the expected growth in incoming international tourism to Egypt, especially given the positive performance of the sector in tourist numbers during the first half of this year.

During the talks, suitable locations for hotel investments were specifically evaluated in world-renowned holiday destinations such as Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, and the North Coast.

This step will mark NG Hotels’ first hotel project outside Türkiye. The group aims both to increase brand awareness and to capitalize on Egypt’s tourism growth potential.
