Netflix will invest ₺10 billion ($199.8 million) in Turkish films and series between 2026 and 2028.
According to a company statement, the investment will fund new series and films shot across various cities in Türkiye, creating job opportunities in the country's creative sector.
To source new talent and stories, Netflix announced "Next Story: Netflix Project Pitch Day" for Nov. 30. The event allows participants who have not previously worked on a Netflix Türkiye production as a screenwriter, director, or producer to present their projects directly to content teams.
Netflix has already organized more than 40 free training programs—ranging from screenwriting and directing to visual effects and adaptation workshops—to support the future of Türkiye's creative sector.
Additionally, the company's Türkiye Talent Map program, which has run for two years to connect young people with industry training, will expand to three additional cities in Anatolia in its upcoming term.
Ahmet Burak Daglioglu, head of the Presidency Investment and Finance Office, said Türkiye holds a position as one of the important centers of the global series and film industry, thanks to its strong production capacity, qualified human resources and growing international visibility.
Stressing that Türkiye, the world leader in annual TV series episode production, hosts the world’s third-largest and Europe’s largest film studio, Daglioglu said the export revenue of more than $1 billion from Turkish series, which are exported to 190 countries and reach more than 1 billion viewers, “shows the global success of our sector.”
Daglioglu described Netflix’s ₺10 billion investment covering 2026-2028 as an important indicator of confidence in Türkiye’s production potential in creative industries, its qualified workforce and its global competitiveness. “We believe this investment, which will help stories from Türkiye reach wider audiences, will further strengthen our country’s position in the international content production ecosystem,” he said.
He added that under the “Türkiye: A Strong Hub for Investments” program, the tax rate on income from service exports had been reduced to zero. “The announcement of Netflix’s investment decision during this period also shows how accurate this policy is,” he said.
Diego Avalos, Netflix’s Vice President of Content for Spain, Portugal, Türkiye and the Middle East, said the brand is celebrating its 10th year in Türkiye, adding that over the past 10 years the company has filmed in more than 30 cities and brought more than 90 domestic productions to audiences.
Noting that these productions, which have drawn great interest in Türkiye and around the world, have made the Netflix Top 10 lists in more than 90 countries, Avalos said: “This success reflects the talent of the creative sector in Türkiye.”
He added that the company is proud to be part of the sector and to share the productions made together with the whole world, especially its members in Türkiye. “We sincerely thank everyone we work with in front of and behind the camera, and all our members who enjoy watching our productions,” he said.
Avalos said the company has announced a total investment of ₺10 billion covering 2026-2028 to add new achievements to this success. “With this investment, we will bring untold stories from different corners of Anatolia to the screen and create new job opportunities in the creative sector,” he said, adding: “We have many more stories to tell together.”
