Türkiye will host the Fifth Meeting of Energy Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Istanbul on Dec. 9–10, 2025, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources announced.
Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar will welcome participating delegations and hold bilateral talks with visiting ministers to review ongoing and potential areas of cooperation.
The gathering will bring together the OTS Secretariat, member states Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, as well as observer members Hungary, Turkmenistan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The meeting will begin on Dec. 9 with a technical-level session of the OTS Energy Working Group.
The ministerial session, chaired by Bayraktar, will take place on Dec. 10.
Discussions will cover a wide range of energy topics, including renewable energy, oil and natural gas, the peaceful use of nuclear energy, smart grid technologies, energy storage, hydrogen, carbon capture, and critical minerals and rare earth elements.
Participants are expected to evaluate steps to strengthen energy cooperation under the OTS framework.
Bayraktar will also conduct bilateral meetings with guest ministers during the event, assessing current collaborations and exploring new partnership opportunities.
