Global coffee consumption over the last decade totaled $370.3 billion, according to International Trade Center (ITC) data. The steady rise of international coffee chains has continued to push demand for both hot and iced coffee.
The United States emerged as the largest importer, spending $69.2 billion on coffee between 2015 and 2024. Germany followed with $41.9 billion, while France ranked third at $28.9 billion.
Other major buyers included Italy, Canada, Belgium, Spain, Japan, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Together, the top 10 importers accounted for nearly two-thirds of the global coffee market in the last decade.
Brazil remained the undisputed leader in coffee exports, with sales totaling $360.3 billion during the same period. Switzerland and Colombia followed closely behind, each reaching around $28 billion.
Other significant exporters included Germany, Vietnam, Italy, Honduras, France, Belgium, and Indonesia.
Türkiye’s coffee imports reached $2.7 billion over the past decade, rising sharply from $153.4 million in 2015 to $497.1 million in 2024, an increase of 224%, according to national statistics agency TurkStat. Imports were led by Brazil at $1.7 billion, followed by the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, and Colombia.
On the export side, Türkiye shipped $354.5 million worth of coffee in the last decade, with $55.6 million recorded in the first half of 2024 alone. By June this year, Türkiye’s imports had already totaled $472.5 million, with Brazil as its top supplier.
