Nusr-Et Steakhouse, the globally recognized restaurant brand founded by Turkish butcher and internet personality Nusret Gokce—widely known as “Salt Bae”—will close its Beverly Hills location in California this spring as part of a broader strategy to shift its focus toward Europe and Latin America.
The Beverly Hills branch has been a prominent part of the company’s U.S. portfolio.
However, the decision to shut it down follows earlier closures in Dallas, Las Vegas, Boston, and one of the New York locations.
The brand will continue to operate only in Miami and New York Midtown.
According to the company’s statement, Nusr-Et is preparing to launch new locations in several high-profile tourist destinations, including Rome and Milan in Italy, Mexico City in Mexico, and Ibiza in Spain.
The Milan branch is expected to open in the third or fourth quarter of 2025, followed by a Mexico City location inside the prestigious St. Regis Hotel by late 2025 or early 2026. Openings in Rome and Ibiza are projected for 2026.
Akin Tavuz, a board member of Nusr-Et, stated that the expansion strategy targets markets that reflect the company’s core values of quality, energy, and global brand recognition. “We’re excited to bring Nusr-Et to these incredible cities, each with its own culinary identity and vibrant dining scene,” he said.
He added that the new locations were selected in response to customer demand, tourism trends, and regional opportunities.
The company noted that the planned closures and openings represent a realignment designed to support long-term growth in strategically important markets.
Alongside its global ambitions, Nusr-Et continues to invest in its home market, Türkiye. A new branch opened in March 2025 at Aqua Florya, a major shopping and leisure destination in Istanbul.
Another location is set to open in Cappadocia, one of Türkiye’s most visited regions, in June 2025.
Known for its theatrical meat-cutting displays and upscale steak offerings, Nusr-Et currently operates more than 25 locations worldwide.
