Türkiye-based transport company Pasifik Eurasia has signed a deal to transport Kazakh wheat and bran to Türkiye via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway, targeting monthly shipments of 30,000 tons, the company announced Monday.
The company received an initial order for 16,380 tons under an agreement with Türkasya Railway Logistics and Trade Inc., which trades grain between Kazakhstan and Türkiye. The first trial shipment is scheduled to arrive in Yenice, in the southern province of Mersin, in October.
Actual shipment volumes will depend on operational conditions and the companies' business processes, the company added.
The deal adds grain freight to Pasifik Eurasia's operations on the Middle Corridor, a multimodal transport network connecting Central Asia and the South Caucasus with Türkiye and Europe.
The route uses rail, maritime and road links, with cargo from Kazakhstan crossing the Caspian Sea before continuing through Azerbaijan and Georgia toward Türkiye.
The BTK railway provides the rail connection between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye. The line spans approximately 850 kilometers and entered service in 2017.
Following modernization work completed on the Georgian section in 2024, its annual freight capacity rose from 1 million tons to 5 million tons, according to Azerbaijan's transport authorities.
Established in 2019, Pasifik Eurasia focuses on international rail freight and multimodal logistics between Asia and Europe, generating ₺2.5 billion ($50.7 million) in revenue in 2025.
The company says it handles 95% of transportation on the BTK route and provides freight services using its own locomotives and trains, alongside other transport options.
The company has also pursued partnerships to increase freight traffic along the Middle Corridor. In June 2025, it signed an international container transport agreement with China Railway International Multimodal, initially planning 10 block train services before moving toward regular operations, with a first-phase target of 1,000 trains annually.
