Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat will travel to Washington on Friday for a series of high-level meetings aimed at advancing economic ties and achieving the $100 billion bilateral trade volume target between Türkiye and the United States, sources told Turkish news agency Anadolu.
Bolat is scheduled to meet U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, as well as representatives from companies affiliated with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The meetings are expected to focus on implementing concrete steps toward the trade goal set by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The sides will review strategic areas of the current roadmap, including energy, investment, defense, and advanced technologies.
The talks will also assess opportunities for new cooperation and discuss maximizing the use of existing mechanisms such as the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) between Türkiye and the U.S.
According to Turkish officials, the Trade Ministry remains committed to establishing balanced and sustainable trade relations with the U.S., while continuing to promote mutual investments in line with Erdogan’s vision.
