Turkish Airlines remains Türkiye's top exporter with $17.8B in 2025

Türkiye's flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, held onto its position as the country's largest exporter in 2025 with $17.8 billion in overseas sales, topping a ranking of the top 1,000 exporters that generated a combined $182.2 billion.

Ford Otomotiv, an automotive manufacturer, followed with $11.4 billion in exports, while Toyota Otomotiv, another major automaker, ranked third with $3.9 billion, leaving the top three unchanged from a year earlier, the Turkish Exporters' Association report showed.

25 companies exceed $1B in exports

TGS Dis Ticaret, a foreign trade company, came fourth with $3.2 billion, while defense manufacturer ARCA Savunma Sanayi climbed from 38th to fifth after increasing its exports by 392.1% to $2.9 billion.

The rest of the top 10 included foreign trade company Kibar Dis Ticaret, oil refiners Tupras and Star Rafineri, and airlines Pegasus and SunExpress.

Only Turkish Airlines and Ford Otomotiv exceeded $10 billion in exports, while 25 companies crossed the $1 billion mark.

Another 23 companies exported between $500 million and $999 million, 263 posted exports of $100 million to $499 million, 346 recorded between $50 million and $99 million, and 343 companies shipped between $33 million and $49 million abroad.

Istanbul remains export powerhouse

Istanbul continued to serve as Türkiye's main export hub, hosting 434 of the companies included in the top 1,000 list, or more than 43% of the total.

Izmir ranked second with 87 companies, followed by Gaziantep with 60, Kocaeli with 58, Ankara with 57 and Bursa with 54. In all, companies from 49 provinces made the ranking, while 32 provinces were not represented.

The ranking comes after Türkiye posted a record $395.9 billion in total goods and services exports in 2025, comprising $273.3 billion in merchandise exports and $122.6 billion in services exports.

Together, the country's top 1,000 exporters accounted for $182.171 billion in overseas sales during the year, representing about 46% of Türkiye's total goods and services exports, according to the TIM survey.
