Türkiye’s Scientific and Technological Research Council, TUBITAK, has launched new funding and accelerator initiatives to help clean technology startups commercialize their products and attract investment ahead of COP31 in Antalya in November.
The U.N. Climate Change Conference will be held in the Mediterranean resort city from Nov. 9 to Nov. 20, bringing governments together to advance cooperation on climate action, emissions reduction, clean energy transition and climate finance.
According to information obtained by Anadolu, TUBITAK has expanded its support for clean energy, clean technologies and green transformation through funding calls, mentoring and accelerator programs designed to prepare startups for domestic and international markets.
The latest initiatives focus on the second phase of the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme, implemented by TUBITAK in cooperation with the U.N. Industrial Development Organization and several government ministries.
The program aims to turn clean technology solutions into market-ready businesses through acceleration, technology validation and investment readiness activities.
Applications for the GCIP Türkiye Accelerator 2026 and the Inclusive Green Transition Accelerator 2026 will remain open until Aug. 3.
Eligible startups may develop solutions in energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste valorization, water efficiency, green buildings, sustainable transportation, and advanced materials and chemicals.
The programs will help participants improve their technologies and business models, validate products and prepare for investment and market entry.
TUBITAK will provide cash awards to the top three teams in each accelerator.
First-place teams will receive ₺700,000 ($17,300); second-place teams, ₺500,000; and third-place teams, ₺400,000.
Women-led clean technology startups will receive dedicated support, with winners in four categories awarded ₺300,000 each alongside investment readiness assistance.
TUBITAK and UNIDO will separately launch the Inclusive Green Transition Accelerator 2026 to support technology-based solutions that promote an inclusive green economy.
Selected teams will attend the GCIP Türkiye 2026 National Academy in September.
Participants will receive training, mentoring and additional online support through December to help develop and commercialize their clean technology solutions.
