Türkiye-based beverage company Coca-Cola Icecek (CCI), a subsidiary of Anadolu Group, inaugurated its second production facility in Azerbaijan on Tuesday, located in the Ismayilli region.
The launch was attended by high-level Azerbaijani officials, including President Ilham Aliyev, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, and Ismayilli Governor Nahid Baghirov, as well as senior executives from CCI and the Anadolu Group.
The company’s CEO, Karim Yahi, joined Anadolu Group Honorary Chairman Tuncay Ozilhan, Chairman of the Board Kamil Suleyman Yazici, and Anadolu Group CEO Burak Basarir at the inauguration ceremony.
CCI Azerbaijan General Manager Rena Mamedova stated that the plant will operate with two production lines, increasing the company’s manufacturing capacity in the country by 50%. The construction of the factory began last year.
The newly opened plant is expected to contribute notably to local employment. Mamedova highlighted that the factory has already created 100 new jobs, all staffed by local residents. She also emphasized the broader economic effect, noting that 76% of the company’s procurement and services in Azerbaijan are sourced locally, supporting roughly 6,000 people through indirect employment.
In addition, Mamedova pointed out that CCI ranks among Azerbaijan’s top 30 taxpayers, reinforcing its financial contribution to the local economy.
Beyond its production goals, CCI aims to embed sustainable practices at the new site. These initiatives include investments in renewable energy, waste management, water conservation, and reforestation. The company also plans to continue its community-focused projects, such as a scholarship program for women engineers in Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the event, Honorary Chairman Tuncay Ozilhan said he was pleased to witness Azerbaijan’s development firsthand and described the close relationship between Türkiye and Azerbaijan as more than historical — a powerful partnership for the future. He stressed the importance of generating lasting value in the region as a reflection of long-term cooperation and shared cultural ties.
The company disclosed that total investment in Azerbaijan since its first plant in Baku has reached $200 million, with direct employment exceeding 400 people and thousands more supported through indirect means.
Founded in 1961, Coca-Cola Icecek is a joint venture between Anadolu Efes and the U.S.-based Coca-Cola Company.
