Türkiye's exports of medium-high and high-technology products rose 7% year over year to $86.4 billion in the first nine months of 2026, reflecting the country's growing focus on technology-intensive production, according to official data.
Figures from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), compiled by Anadolu Agency (AA), showed that medium-high technology exports accounted for $79 billion of the total, while high-technology shipments reached $7.4 billion.
The exports cover a broad range of industries, including motor vehicles, aircraft and spacecraft, defense equipment, pharmaceuticals, computers, electronics and electrical machinery.
The latest figures follow years of growth in Türkiye's technology-intensive exports, which reached $111.9 billion in 2025, up from $101.1 billion in 2024.
Türkiye's high-technology exports increased 6.3% in the January-September period compared with the same period last year, rising from $6.9 billion to $7.4 billion.
Computers, electronic and optical products accounted for the largest share, generating $3 billion in exports.
Aircraft and spacecraft manufacturing followed with $2.5 billion, while pharmaceutical, medicinal chemical and botanical products contributed another $1.9 billion.
The figures reflect the contribution of electronics, aerospace and pharmaceutical manufacturing to Türkiye's high-technology exports.
Exports of medium-high technology products rose 7.1% from a year earlier to $79 billion during the first nine months of 2026.
Motor vehicle manufacturing remained the largest contributor, accounting for $29.2 billion in exports.
Chemicals and chemical products ranked second with $15.7 billion, followed by electrical equipment at $15.1 billion and machinery and equipment at $14.1 billion.
Other major export categories included weapons and ammunition, which generated $3.4 billion, and medical and dental instruments and supplies at $818 million.
Manufacturing of other transport equipment, excluding aircraft, spacecraft, related machinery, ships and boats, contributed another $664 million.
Türkiye's medium-high and high-technology exports have expanded substantially over the past decade, supported by policies prioritizing domestic technology production.
Combined exports in the two categories stood at $53.1 billion in 2013 before increasing to $60.1 billion in 2017.
The total reached $77.4 billion in 2021 and climbed to $88.7 billion in 2022.
Technology-intensive exports continued to grow, reaching $97.3 billion in 2023 before surpassing $100 billion for the first time in the figures provided, at $101.1 billion in 2024.
In 2025, the total increased further to $111.9 billion.
The $86.4 billion recorded in the first nine months of 2026 represents a continuation of that upward trend, with motor vehicles, machinery, electronics and aerospace among the key contributors to Türkiye's technology-intensive export performance.
