Türkiye-based Tera Group has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of Finnish agricultural and forestry machinery manufacturer Sampo-Rosenlew Oy from Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, one of the world’s largest tractor producers.

According to a disclosure filed with the Public Disclosure Platform on Monday, Tera Group stated that the acquisition was made in line with the company’s targets of expanding into technology, industry, and energy to strengthen its position in future strategic sectors.

The company did not disclose the amount of the deal. The transfer of shares is expected to be finalized in the near term, with updates to be shared publicly once the process is complete, it added.

Sampo-Rosenlew’s global presence

Founded in 1853, Sampo-Rosenlew is headquartered in Pori, Finland. The company is known for its combine harvesters, forestry machines, and transport equipment. In 2024, the company recorded net sales of approximately €41 million ($48.12 million) and employed around 200 people.

Tera Group confirmed that the Pori facilities will remain central to the company’s research, development, and production activities, preserving what it described as the firm’s "engineering heritage" while advancing new technologies.

The company said it aims to bring robotics and artificial intelligence-based solutions into agricultural production, combining its financial strength with advanced manufacturing expertise.

According to Tera Group, the deal will enable it to broaden Sampo-Rosenlew’s product portfolio and strengthen competitiveness in global markets. The company stated that it plans to become a leading international player in next-generation, unmanned, AI-supported agricultural technology.

Expansion across emerging markets

Beyond Europe, Tera Group highlighted growth opportunities in Türkiye, the Middle East, Africa, and the Central Asian republics. The company said it intends to replicate successful business models from Algeria in these regions, underscoring its goal of building a wider international footprint.

In its announcement, Tera Group described the acquisition as “a turning point” in its global growth journey and a step toward positioning Türkiye as "a rising power in the global industrial ecosystem."
