Russians topped Türkiye’s inbound visitor markets in 2025, with Germans and Britons rounding out the top three, as the country’s overall visitor count pushed close to 64 million, according to figures shared by Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy during a briefing on fourth-quarter 2025 results.

A near-64-million visitor year sets the backdrop

Data presented at the briefing put the total number of visitors to Türkiye in 2025 at 63,941,000, described as one of the highest levels in the Republic’s history.

In the same remarks, Ersoy framed Turkish tourism as having moved beyond a purely regional footprint and into a more global position, while also saying the tourism vision had been reshaped to cover the country’s full potential.

Russia stayed out in front as a main driver

Russia ranked first among countries sending visitors to Türkiye in 2025, with 6.90 million Russian tourists recorded for the year.

The data highlighted Russia as a continuing pillar for Türkiye’s tourism demand, particularly tied to strong interest in coastal destinations along the Mediterranean.

Germany held on as a long-standing core market

Germany took second place with 6.75 million visitors in 2025. The figures were described as a sign of steady, ongoing interest from a traditional and established market, and as an indicator of longer-term confidence in travel demand toward Türkiye.

The UK kept building up its post-2019 rise

The United Kingdom placed third with 4.27 million visitors in 2025. The information shared pointed to growing interest in culture, gastronomy, and city tourism as factors supporting the U.K. market’s continued rise since 2019.
