A 14-year-old boy has lost his life following a tragic incident during a TikTok video shoot in Adana, Türkiye. The victim, identified as Murat Aras Hirman, was shot accidentally while riding a motorcycle with his 16-year-old friend, M.E.S., who has now been arrested.
The incident occurred on April 21 in the Midik neighborhood of the Seyhan district. According to reports, 16-year-old M.E.S. was filming a video for TikTok while riding as a passenger on a motorcycle driven by Hirman.
In the course of the recording, a handgun in M.E.S.'s possession accidentally discharged.
The bullet struck Hirman in the back, leaving him critically injured. Panicking, M.E.S. immediately contacted emergency services.
Hirman was rushed to Adana City Hospital, where he was admitted to intensive care. Despite all efforts, the young boy succumbed to his injuries on April 29.
Following the incident, law enforcement launched an investigation and confirmed that the shooting was accidental. M.E.S. was taken into custody and later arrested after appearing before the court.
The heartbreaking incident has once again raised concerns about the dangers associated with risky social media trends, particularly among young users.
