Korean pop band Blackpink's Rose has teamed up with Apple for her upcoming single "New Trick," her agency The Black Label confirmed on Thursday.

The music video will mark the latest installment in Apple's long-running Shot on iPhone campaign, filmed on the iPhone 18 Pro. Dave Meyers, who previously directed Blackpink's "Jump," is behind the camera once again.

Rose gave fans a first look at the project in a teaser posted to her Instagram on Thursday, holding up a purple lollipop stamped with "new trick" and "Shot on iPhone 18 Pro."

Rose breaks down 'New Trick'

Speaking to Vogue ahead of the release, Rose said "New Trick" was written with frequent collaborator Amy Allen just days after May's Met Gala in New York, marking a deliberate shift away from the melancholic tone of her 2024 solo debut, Rosie.

She described embracing a lighter, more playful energy in the studio and said the song reminded her of the upbeat pop-rock tracks, like Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl," that once soundtracked Apple's ads.

While "New Trick" arrives Sept. 17 as a standalone single, Rose confirmed her sophomore album is still being shaped and isn't expected until 2027.

This partnership puts Rose in the same lineup as previous "Shot on iPhone" collaborators, including The Weeknd's "Dancing in the Flames," Olivia Rodrigo's "Get Him Back!," and Lady Gaga's "Stupid Love," reinforcing Apple's pattern of pairing its camera marketing with major pop names.

Shooting the entire video on the iPhone 18 Pro also puts the phone's enhanced camera system on display, including the variable aperture control Apple debuted at its Sept. 9 event.
