British rock band Suede, one of the leading names of the 1990s Britpop movement, will perform in Istanbul on Friday, July 17, bringing songs from its upcoming album “Antidepressants” together with some of its best-known hits.
The concert will take place at Zorlu PSM’s Turkcell Stage and is being organized by Epifoni and Zorlu PSM, according to the venue.
Formed in London in 1989, Suede helped shape Britpop, a 1990s British music movement built around guitar-driven rock, alternative sounds and a strong sense of British pop identity.
Fronted by Brett Anderson, the band broke through in the early 1990s and built its reputation with albums including “Suede,” “Dog Man Star” and “Coming Up.”
The Istanbul concert is expected to bring together material from “Antidepressants,” Suede’s 10th studio album, with several songs that have long defined the band’s live performances.
The set is expected to include tracks such as “Trash,” “Animal Nitrate,” “Beautiful Ones” and “So Young,” giving longtime fans a mix of new music and familiar Britpop-era anthems.
