The Canakkale Wars Mobile Museum has opened its European program, bringing the memory of the Gallipoli campaign to Turkish communities across the continent through photographs, historical documents, wartime objects and digital content.
Organized by the Canakkale Wars Gallipoli Historical Site Directorate, the traveling museum first welcomed visitors in Munich, Germany, on June 1, before setting out for other cities in Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria and Kosovo as part of its 2026 program.
The mobile museum was designed to keep alive the memory of the Canakkale Wars, known internationally as the Gallipoli campaign of World War I, while raising public awareness about national unity and passing historical consciousness on to younger generations.
According to the directorate, the museum has already visited all 81 provinces of Türkiye, where it hosted millions of citizens. It later moved on to programs in the Balkans, reaching Turkish communities and people with cultural ties to Türkiye.
Following strong public interest in previous years, the museum is now meeting Turkish citizens living in Europe.
After Munich, the museum will meet visitors in Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg, Duisburg and Cologne, offering a traveling historical experience built around the Canakkale legacy.
In Germany, the museum will open at the Berlin Consulate General from June 8 to 10, followed by stops in Hamburg (June 11–12), Duisburg (June 15–16), and Cologne (June 17–19).
The European tour will continue in Belgium, visiting Maasmechelen on June 21, Genk on June 22, Heusden-Zolder on June 23, and Liege on June 24, before heading to Saint-Josse-ten-Noode in the Brussels region from June 26–27 and concluding in Mons on June 28.
In July, the museum moves to Bulgaria for a series of stops in Razgrad (July 5–7), Haskovo (July 8–9), and Plovdiv (July 10–11).
The tour will wrap up in Kosovo, opening its doors in Pristina from July 14–15, Mamusha on July 16, and Prizren from July 17–18.
