Renowned filmmaker Christopher Nolan, fresh from his Oscar triumph with “Oppenheimer,” is poised to be knighted by Britain for his remarkable contributions to the film industry, as the British government announced.

Joining Nolan in the honors is his wife and film producer, Emma Thomas, who will be conferred with a damehood, the female equivalent of knighthood in Britain.

Knighthoods and damehoods are esteemed accolades in the United Kingdom.

They are typically granted to individuals who have made significant contributions to their respective fields, often at a national level.

Nolan, who penned the Oscar-winning “Oppenheimer” screenplay and co-produced it with Thomas, crafted a historical drama depicting the race to develop the first atomic bomb.

The film clinched seven Academy Awards earlier this month, including the coveted Best Picture trophy and Nolan’s inaugural Best Director Academy Award.

Among Nolan’s illustrious filmography are celebrated works such as “Interstellar,” “Inception,” “Dunkirk,” and the Batman trilogy.

The British government divulged a list of honors recommended by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, which included Conservative politicians and tech industry leaders.
