The Grammy-winning group Gipsy Kings by Andre Reyes, has filmed their latest music video at the Temple of Apollo in Didim, an ancient site located along the scenic Turkish Riviera.
Known for its towering columns and deep roots in classical antiquity, the temple provided a dramatic backdrop for the group’s signature blend of Flamenco, Rumba, pop and Latin rhythms.
Set among the ruins of the Aegean coast, the video shoot highlighted the mystical atmosphere of the temple, a symbol of ancient Greek heritage in western Türkiye.
Group founder Andre Reyes said performing at such a historic site was an unforgettable experience, describing it as a place that brought unique energy to their music.
Looking ahead to their upcoming tour, Reyes shared that the group would perform in several Turkish cities, including Izmir, Bursa, Istanbul, Samsun, Ankara, Antalya, Mersin, and Gaziantep throughout September and October.
He emphasized how deeply they value their connection with Türkiye, saying, “Every time we come to Türkiye, we feel at home, and that means a lot to us.”
Reyes also noted that the real source of their drive comes from the people, adding that the energy and love of audiences give them the strength to keep going.
He explained that the group’s music is built on both tradition and innovation, and that their sense of family is what makes it authentic and enduring.
Formed in 1978 by members of a nomadic community who fled Spain during the civil war of the 1930s and resettled in southern France, the Gipsy Kings rose to international prominence with their 1987 self-titled album.
Over the years, they have adapted well-known English-language songs into their unique style of Catalan Rumba, receiving wide recognition for versions of I’ve Got No Strings, Hotel California and My Way.
The band has received multiple Grammy nominations and earned critical acclaim for albums such as Love and Liberte and Savor Flamenco.
