Filming has begun in the southern Turkish province of Antalya for a new television series that explores the friendship between Georgian and Turkish children. The production is being carried out by a Georgian team in the district of Manavgat, with shooting currently underway at a local hotel.
The cast features both Georgian and Turkish child actors, supported by a crew of 48 members. The show is designed to promote mutual understanding and cultural exchange between the two neighboring countries.
Producer Ioana Dolidze said that the project aims to highlight long-standing cultural ties between Türkiye and Georgia, while also offering subtle critiques of modern issues.
The series includes elements from both countries’ cultures and seeks to raise awareness about the negative effects of modern technology on children. It also proposes solutions to help strengthen empathy and cooperation between young people from both nations.
Explaining the choice of Türkiye as the filming location, Dolidze emphasized the historical and cultural bonds that link the two nations. She noted that a key message of the show is peace, adding that Türkiye is globally recognized for its efforts in promoting peaceful relations.
“Türkiye is known for its support for peace, and the Georgian people share this same commitment. We believe our cultures have many shared values and lifestyles, which makes this collaboration especially meaningful,” she said.
The show's lead actor, Temur Katamadze, shared his affection for Türkiye and admiration for the Turkish language, which he learned through watching Turkish TV series. He said the production team chose Türkiye as the filming location because of its peaceful stance and wanted the show to deliver a broader message to global audiences.
“Türkiye is a country of peace, and that’s why we are shooting this series here. We want to send a message to the world from here: Let there be no more wars, and let no more children die,” Katamadze stated.
