Organized by the Gobeklitepe Promotion, Culture, Art, Education, Research and Tourism Association, the event has announced its finalists across three strands and set a slate of special screenings that will broaden the program.
Festival “finalists” are films shortlisted to compete for the top awards. The national competition brings together "Kentin Otekileri, Ac Acina, Soyle Anlatayim, Sinek Gibi, 105 33, Hic, Ada, and Misafirler."
The international selection features "I Am Canadian (Canada and Iran), Vasomotor Rhinitis (Georgia), IMA (Iran), Lost in Language (Iran), Just a Fist (Iran), The Funeral (Iran), Black Box (Russia), and When I Grow Up (Spain)."
In the archaeology-themed documentary category, the finalists are "Papirus Hikayesi, Frescoes of The Flooded Monastery... Or How Lisa Saved (Apocalypse), Voices Of The Mountains, and Zerzevan’in Gizemli Tarihi."
“Special screenings” are out-of-competition titles shown to enrich the festival conversation. This year’s program will present "Hemme’nin Oldugu Gunlerden Biri, Bildigin Gibi Degil, Balinanin Bilgisi, Bir Gun, 365 Saat, The Frost And a Little Schoolboy, and Bir Sinefilin Drami."
Drawing inspiration from Gobeklitepe’s enduring heritage, the festival plans to bring together directors, producers, academics, and film writers for a series of talks that will explore cinema from multiple angles.
