British alternative music group Gorillaz delivered a spectacular performance for their fans at a concert held at Bonus Parkorman in Istanbul.

Playing for roughly two hours, the band opened with "The Happy Dictator" before running through fan favorites such as "Tranz," "Last Living Souls," "19-2000," "Rhinestone Eyes," "Feel Good Inc.," "Clint Eastwood," and "On Melancholy Hill."

From start to finish, the energetic crowd sang along to every track, rewarding the band with sustained applause. The live show transformed into a unique visual spectacle as giant screens displayed the group's iconic animations and colorful illustrations throughout the night.

At one point, lead vocalist Damon Albarn stepped down from the stage to interact directly with the front rows. He shook hands with members of the crowd and signed albums and posters, drawing an especially ecstatic response from the audience.

Many of these standout moments were captured by attendees and widely shared across social media platforms.

One band, countless voices

Gorillaz was formed in London in 1998 by Blur frontman Damon Albarn and comic artist Jamie Hewlett, best known for co-creating "Tank Girl." What began as a reaction to the era's manufactured pop acts became a project defined by variety.

The band's style has explored a different genre-blending sound on nearly every album, with influences ranging from hip-hop and dub reggae to electro and pop. More recently, the band has branched into R&B, soul, Chicago house and world music.

A revolving cast of collaborators has been central to Gorillaz's sound since day one—from Del the Funky Homosapien, Tina Weymouth and Dan the Automator on their debut, to later contributors as varied as Elton John, Andre 3000, Ike Turner and MF Doom on albums like "Demon Days," produced by Danger Mouse.

At the 48th Annual Grammy Awards, held on Feb. 8, 2006, Gorillaz became the first virtual band to win a Grammy. "Feel Good Inc.," the lead single from their second album "Demon Days" and featuring De La Soul, won the award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.

The victory came four years after the group first made Grammy history, becoming the first animated act to earn a nomination for "Clint Eastwood" in 2002.
