Grammy-winning South African DJ and producer Black Coffee will perform in Istanbul on October 11 at Zorlu PSM.
The event is part of his ongoing international tour, which has included shows at major global venues. Tickets will be available starting August 29 through Bubilet.
Organizers said the concert will bring one of electronic music’s most influential figures to Turkish fans. Known for blending house music with jazz, R&B, soul, and African rhythms, Black Coffee has built a reputation for mixing different sounds into powerful live sets.
In recent years, the artist has become a regular presence at leading international festivals and venues.
His Istanbul performance comes at a time when he continues to expand his reach beyond dance music circles, working with some of the world’s most recognized artists. He has collaborated with Alicia Keys, Drake, Usher, and David Guetta, among others.
Black Coffee, born Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo in 1976 in South Africa, is one of the most prominent figures in global electronic music.
His path into music began in the 1990s, and his career took off after participating in the Red Bull Music Academy in 2003.
He launched his debut album "Black Coffee" in 2005 under his own label, Soulistic Music. Since then, he has released nine studio albums. His sixth, "Subconsciously" (2021), featured Pharrell Williams, Diplo, RyX, Usher, and David Guetta. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.
Black Coffee’s personal story has also shaped his career. In February 1990, while celebrating Nelson Mandela’s release from prison, he was struck by a car in a crowd, suffering a brachial plexus injury that left him unable to use his left arm.
Despite this, he built a career as a DJ and producer, even breaking the world record for the longest set played with one arm when he performed for 60 hours non-stop in Cape Town.
His style combines deep house with African rhythms and soulful melodies, a sound that has resonated across Europe, North America, and beyond.
Black Coffee’s influence extends outside music. He has won multiple South African Music Awards, DJ Awards, and Metro FM Awards, alongside his Grammy recognition. His career has taken him to festivals such as Coachella and Ultra, and to historic venues including Salle Wagram in Paris.
In addition to music, he has been active in philanthropy. In June 2025, his Black Coffee Foundation raised more than 500,000 rand to support victims of floods in his hometown of Mthatha.
The Istanbul performance is anticipated to draw both Turkish and international audiences.
