Istanbul is deploying around 100 free buses and extending metro services through dawn to manage crowds expected at the Kanye West concert at Ataturk Olympic Stadium on May 30.
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) announced the transport measures ahead of what is projected to be one of the city's largest music events of the year. Metro lines will operate through the night, while the free bus service will connect the stadium to multiple points across the city following the concert.
Authorities have urged attendees to prioritize public transportation when traveling to and from the venue.
The event, organized by ILS Vision, is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. with a Before Party featuring DJ performances and interactive areas across the stadium grounds.
The venue is expected to draw around 120,000 attendees, surpassing the current world record for a single concert of 98,000.
ILS Vision founder Erdem Karahan confirmed Travis Scott is expected to appear as a guest artist.
Turkish artists Yener Cevik, Mavi, Sena Sener and Pera are also scheduled to perform during the free Before and After Party segments of the event.
Turkish rapper Motive, who was previously listed on the lineup, announced via Instagram that he would not be able to attend due to album preparations.
Following the main concert, an after-party will continue until dawn, featuring laser, light, and fireworks shows. Attendees under 16 may enter accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Accessible areas will be available at the venue.
This marks West's first performance in Istanbul in 11 years.
The concert will be broadcast live on television using 16 cameras and steadicam systems.
Tourism projections estimate the event could generate between $50 million and $100 million in revenue from hotel stays, transportation and food spending by international visitors.
