Istanbul Bilgi University is hosting "Virginia Woolf: Echoes Across Shores," an exhibition that connects the world of the British writer with contemporary art. The show opened at the Energy Museum on the university's Santralistanbul Campus.
The exhibition is part of the 35th International Virginia Woolf Conference.
Curators Demet Karabulut Dede, Levent Tokun, and Derya Sayin focused on the theme "Virginia Woolf and Sound," exploring ideas like sound, silence, memory, space, and sensory experience in Woolf's work.
Thirteen artists from Türkiye and other countries are contributing to the exhibition. The artists are Ayse Orhon, Bengisu Bayrak, Eda Cekil, Gulsun Orhon, Hasan Nazif Yilmaz, Irem Gungez, Mesrure Melis Bilgin Koen, Naz Isiksoy, Ozlem Isbilir, Paola Giorgi, Rebecca Wood, Sinan Aruser, and Zeynep Abaci.
Bridging Woolf's literary vision with the rich cultural and sensory landscape of Istanbul, the exhibition remains open to the public at the Santralistanbul Campus Energy Museum through July 24.
